Hi I am working on the Wedding template and id like to find out how to edit/locate the banner/slideshow at the top of the landing page

It is a zentools 2 module named "Banner wedding Home" with id 1164 and published in banner position - it is showing 3 articles coming from slideshow category , so changing articles content you can also change slideshow.

You should edit 3 articles from slideshow category , change text inside them and then it will be changed also in slideshow.
The easiest way would be to stick to the existing code layout in the article
