How to add content to footer

I want to add content to the GK News footer. The footer.php file contains only the following php

gk_load('after');
gk_load('footer');

I'd like to alter the text and behaviour of the 'footer' Where can I do this?

If you want to customize the footer section, you can open the footer.php file in the wp-content/themes/gk-theme/layout folder.
