Short Description Text Options

On the short description of the individual filter results, the text cuts off quite sharpish around 22words.

This makes it difficult to create an introduction sentence that is complete.

is there any way to set the the text to cut at a certain point in each article, or extend the current limit, or use a custom description that isn't the start of the article?
