Cron Job, Index and Joomla Cache

I have a few questions about MEGA filter:

1) what is the cron job function for?
2) how often do filters need to be INDEXED?
3) even after clearing my joomla cache, new articles which i have created, do not appear on my frontend where the megafilter items are. why is that?

All of your questions are related to index in JA Megafilter.

When you update content, the new content is not automatically updated in mega filter pages, you have to re-save or index the mega filter from back-end.

The feature - Cron Job allows you to configure to auto index for specific mega filters (1 or more) in defined duration (the time is in miliseconds)

With the generated cron URL, you can setup a cron job in your server side, almost hostings have option to setup this.

us4m4h Then there must be cache issue, you can try to clear cache on your site and browser's cache.

This is a major flaw in the design of this tool: it needs to clear browser cache and this isn't something we have control of. Customers that buy from us on a regular basis will be seeing outdated results if they don't clear browser cache. Unbelievable! This makes the megafilter useless!

If your site doesn't have cache enabled, then after indexing the filter, the result should display immediately. Sometime it's cached on browser specific so I mentioned to clear cache.
