Where does the main image come from?

I am attempting to create a splash page or landing page when anyone links to perrycountytn.com, with links to each of the subdomains. I thought this template, Writer from GavickPro would work well, with just a homepage. However, I have not worked in K2 in over ten years now... didn't like it very much. But to get this template to work, I guess I need to learn my way around it.

The placeholder images are understandable, but I do not see where they are coming from so I can replace them on the homepage. I do understand how the images are linked on the right hand side of the page, but not the large main image, now a large gray empty box with the lettering on top, image attached. Please tell me where to change this image. I looked through the inspector, and got a crazy image name which I'm sure was generated through the K2 component, but where???

I got it to work... finally. I know it's a caching issue, but I'm just not sure how to fix the cache. Yes, I know about how to do it browser specific. But that doesn't fix it. I mean, I did try that first before posting on here.

I tried several browsers, my iphone and ipad, and it all showed the same issue. I checked the Joomla site, went to Clear Cache and nothing was cached. I do not have the site caching since it is a dev site at this point. Any other suggestions?

Hi Pat,

There are some places where the cache comes from:

Template
Cache plugins
3rd party extensions
Server cache

If you disable all cache settings in template or plugins, kindly check your server settings if cache is enabled there or not.

I found out my host does not cache the server. Can you explain to me how caching works with the template, plugins, and third party extensions? How would the cache be cleared for them?

Hi Pat,

For template or plugin, you can clear it in /administrator/index.php?option=com_cache in backend of your site.

About 3rd party extensions, it will depend on the extension, some may provide the link in menu in backend so you can clear cache.
