in my masonry, the titles you click on do not take you to the article itself, but only seem to refresh the homepage. For example, when you have selected the "news" category, the first article preview is "faqs" However when you click on the title you are not sent to the relevant article page.

The category 40-masonry does not associated a menu item.
Kindly create a menu item type category blog and select the category 40-masonry in this menu. So when you click on the articles under this category, they will open under this menu not in default homepage.
In Joomla all articles works like this, if they are not associated a menu it will open under default Home page. As your site Home menu does not have the Mainbody so its appear to us like refresh but actually its loading the article on Home menu.
