Getting "0 - Using $this when not in object context" on PHP 7.1+

My site goes down getting this error every time I switch to PHP 7.1 or up.
The error: 0 - Using $this when not in object context

It should work fine, Please check your Joomla version also ready for PHP 7
And edit fields in first post and submit a temp super user login with FTP data http://prntscr.com/zjuzad
Since it required to update the PHP version you can share the details of site site on which you upgrade the PHP 7 or later.

Hi,
I edited th fields both for FTP and Admin access to the backend of the website.
The Joomla is on the latest version, and atm the version of php is set to 7.0 in order for the site to work.

I need the site with upgraded version as its not possible to update PHP version from Joomla to make test.
Also let me know on which are you are getting this error?
Frontend or site backend also down.

Hi,
I have set PHP version to 7.4 for you. The problem starts for version 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4. PHP 8.0 gives just "Error" word.
The problem is for the frontend only. Please check now.

EDIT: I have to set PHP to 7.0 in order for the site to worka. What time around is most suitable for you so I can schedule PHP set to 7.4?

You can make a copy of site as you have a live site. And submit details of it in Edit fields.
Update the PHP version for test site only.

Its custom layout you built in layouts that may have errors.
You can create the layout in layout tab and save there will be no issue.
