I guess you still misunderstand 'Topic' content type here with normal Joomla article. Pls check out the documentation of JA Teline V template:

We mentioned in details of each content type: normal Joomla article, Video content type, Event content type, Topic content type, ...
and check this screenshot:
In the module settings above, you select 2 categories: El Mundo and Deportes, right?
However, these 2 modules don't have any article with 'Topic' content type so of course, nothing will show on frontend.
I hope this makes senses.
