Hi,

I'm trying to setup the Paradise template and have installed it as a quickstart. I have enabled every Solidres module, plugin, etc. but cannot for the life of me figure out what's going wrong. (please see attached screenshots)

For some reason there are two [top2] positions (when using "?tp=1" to view module positions) and everything is completely out of alignment. The "Solidres - Module check availability" module sits on top of the slideshow and not just below it like on the demo.

In this case we won't be using the "Solidres - Module check availability" - but when I disable that module the next one down (custom module "Est. 1937 Paradise Hotel & Restaurant") disappears behind the slideshow and only the text is visible, not the headline where it says "Est. 1937 Paradise Hotel & Restaurant". It's like something is missing .. something to create the needed whitespace between the two modules and ensuring they're not overlapping as shown in the screenshots.

I have tried enabling/disabling and playing around with pretty much anything I can think of now but all to no avail. Please, can anyone see what's going wrong here? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

    Hi godstedlund

It seems that you missed the suffix class for the homepage on your site. You can go to Template settings >> Features tab >> and add frontpage class for the home menu item of your site

101 here is ID of the home menu item, you can change to the ID of that menu item on your site:

    Hi Saguaros,

Thank you very much for this. This fixed that issue, so that's brilliant. :-)

However, I'm a but unsure if I understand this fully - I'm not familiar with the definition of a "frontpage" or even "pages" as such. How do I know which page is called what? Yes, "frontpage" is somewhat obvious but where can I see/know what other pages are named if I will need to add suffixes to other pages I create going forward?

I mean, I cannot see anywhere that the frontpage (default page) is indeed defined as "frontpage" - so how does Joomla (or the template) know what "frontpage" means - and how will I add suffixes to future pages if I have no way of defining a name for a given page?

I'm guessing the frontpage class is defined in the CSS somewhere .. is there a way to see what class names exist? I would have thought such definitions/names should be defined on menu level, but in any of the menus there's no mention of a page being named "frontpage" or any way to name a page, so to speak. Or am I missing a point somewhere? (I have never worked with 'pages' in a template before)

Also, I'm not able to find any actual documentation for the Paradise template. It would be very helpful if I could read up on these things but so far I have not found any useful documentation apart from the few posts in this forum. Do you know if any documentation exists?

Thanks again for your help with this issue - and thanks in advance for any help or pointers you may be able to give! :-)

      Hi godstedlund

'frontpage' is simply a CSS class name, and this template declares special rules for this class specific and this class is assigned to homepage, there are also other classes that you can see here:

      https://www.gavick.com/joomla-templates/paradise/install#assigning-frontpage

Of course, you can define a new class with the name as you wish and declare rules for that class + assign to the pages you want.

This template has special design for homepage (most GK templates) and the 'frontpage' class is often used.

      Hi Saguaros,

Thank you very much for the clarification and for the link to the documentation. That will come in handy, I'm sure. I am familiar with CSS and will work on that as and when I need to, when I get a bit further on setting up the site.

Thanks again, your help is very much appreciated! 😊
