JA Extension Manager is giving a 500 server error

JA Extension Manager is giving a 500 server error. I have not tried debugging but the error is easily reproduced by trying to use the extension. I'm going to try to remove it and reinstall. Also there is an anomaly with another non-JoomLart extension so it could be an issue across a number of extensions. I'm running PHP 8, mysql 5.7 and J! 3.9.25

After I reinstalled I noticed this in the apache error log. Also there is a bug or something with reading the PHP initialization files somewhere. I had to change apache2, fpm and cgi before the settings got updated in the PHP information tab of system information. I think this may be a PHP 8 issue.

saguaros no problem. I went ahead and ran a lint against the php of json.php to correct for that deprecated syntax until it came up clean. It's a simple fix for that lib, I have checked and included the patch file although it is not regression tested to earlier versions of php for what it's worth that method was deprecated since php5.

saguaros new problem, may be related for looking at a template style I'm getting the following error:

So at this point it is seeming more and more that I'm going to have to roll back to PHP7.5 or PHP7.4 or otherwise I can't even look at my layout in any style except Beez3 and Protostar which seem to be working just fine. There seems to be a problem with EasyBlog and JA_Resume modules specifically. Should I rollback to an earlier version of PHP?

For now, please use PHP 7.3 so everything can work properly. There will be update for new PHP when Joomla 4 comes out.

saguaros well, that is not optimal but I guess I haven't any choice. I have another server that can't move to a later PHP and now I have one that can't move forward, it's kind of funny. Thanks as always for your excellent support. Is there any specific reason you are saying php7.3 and not php7.4?

I just updated to 2.6.6 and enabled php8.0 without problems on my staging server. I am able to view the frontend and templates in the backend. Aside from the specific issue that was cited in the original message of this thread are there any others issues that you want me to check out?
