Remove text and show only icon in MegaMenu

Hello!

I'm wondering if it's possible to not display the text on a MegaMenu item, and instead only display the associated icon?

For instance, please see: https://cloud-planet.uk

Those menu items have an icon associated with them, and we'd like to hide the actual title (text) of the link to only show the icon.

Is that possible?

Also, I notice that when added the icon to the top-right menu, it also changes the font of the text, which would need to be fixed if it is not possible to hide the menu item title.

Hi Todd,

If you want to show icon and hide the menu title, you can use the default feature of Joomla that you can use image instead of icon and disable the 'Add menu title':

I've tried that before creating a support ticket. 🙂 It seems that MegaMenu is overriding the settings somehow. I've tried setting the menu item title flag to 'no', but that doesn't seem to do anything. The 'Home' text is still displayed.

And if I remove it from the MegaMenu navigation, then it removes the whole thing, icon included, which is not what we want.

Any ideas?

Hi Saguaros,

I'd actually just like to use a standard FontAwesome icon, the house, to represent the Home text.

This is so that we can shorten the overall length of the main navigation to accommodate all of our nav entries.

We were using:

 fa fa-home

This was placed in the Link Class field while disabling the Add Menu Title field. This is the way we've always done it for all your other templates, which has always worked fine up until now.

Thanks a bunch for your help with this! I don't know why MegaMenu is ignoring the Add Menu Title field...

toddjharrison731 It's weird, which template shows that way? as the 'Add Menu Title' option is used when you add the image only. You can read it description in the tooltips.
