Is there a way to have different accounts with the same e-mail?
My clients wants that parents could create accounts for their children...
While seems there is a custom joomla plugin to allow that, I do not want to mess the system without asking first..

In Joomla the userbase is work for one email per account and there is no support for this.
I do not suggest you to make any hack that will create issue in future as there will be duplicate entry for users when same email used. I noticed there is a plugin on JED but its not clear whether it support JomSocial and under development too as its updated 4 years back.
Thank you, I suspect so, but I need to ask since my client insists.
By the way, the plug in on JED does not work on Jomsocial, I tried on a test site.

It may not work as it's too old and mag not built for Jomsocial as well.
As I said it's not suggested to hack Joomla core system. It may create issue later
