Hello, when trying to install JomSocial the installation always freezes at the step of "add custom field" and never progresses past this step. Is there an error log or anything to help troubleshoot this?

    Hello, we have already set all parameters to the recommended settings and the installation is still failing. We have added required information.

    I believe at one point in time Version 4.0.7 was installed, but had been uninstalled before attempting this installation. I assume the issue is related to the old version?

      The old version was un-installed long ago and is no longer on the site and has not been for some time. This is a new installation... are you saying we will need to re-install the old version first and then upgrade it before installing the current version?

        Is this fresh install of Jomsocial? No previous database exist on site for Jomsocial?

        It does appear the database still exists. I assume that is the issue. I will work on resolving that problem. Thank you!

          If DB exist you have to follow the process. Otherwise if you need fresh install of new version, you can removed older DB and install the new version.
