If I link an article in a personalized module, it will not work

Hi, I linked an article in a personalized module using the following:
<a class="thumbnail" href="index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=294">
But if I click on the link from the home page I see that the link is cut and the home page appears again.

How can I fix the problem?

Hi
Kindly turn on SEF option and use the link via menu alias. In Joomla all system URL will open under the Homepage as there is no menu item in it.
You can create a single article type menu and link this article. Now copy the URL of menu and use that.
