Hi Pankaj,
Thank you for your help and your reply.
I am sorry, but that is not the file I need to change to achieve what I want to do.
I couldn't see how any changes in that file would help me, as it contains no references to the subcategory-description at all. So, for testing purposes, I tried deleting all the code in that file and here's the result:-
I am left with a big open blank space where the contents of "blog_item.php" was before I deleted the code. So this file is not the problem. The problem must be whatever file controls the order of "blog_item.php" and the category description for the subcategory that holds the articles.
What I want is to have the block of text (SubCategory Description) currently below this red space in the screenshot - to appear above that red space. (which normally contains all the code from "blog_item.php")
And that is what I am clueless about. Which file controls this? 🤔
Basically, I want it to look like this:-
Normally when you link to a category and enable the category description, the description is shown on top and then the articles of the category are shown below the description. This is completely logical and makes good sense.
But - for an unknown reason, when you make a category a "child" of another category (sub-category) and want to see the description from both the parent and child category things are swapped upside down for the child category and there's no setting in Joomla to control this bizarre ordering of things.
It's really very strange and completely illogical : why would anybody ever want to put a description after the contents? That is like watching a movie and then being told afterwards what the movie was about. Entirely the wrong way around.
Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated! 😉
