Videos are still failing intermittently on the 1up JomSocial install.

We have submitted several tickets on this in the past, with each being unresolved.

Please see: https://1up.wtf/community/videos/video/98-diablo-4-official-announcement-cinematic-trailer-blizzcon-2019?groupid=16

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why some will link and display OK while others won't, but it's getting to be a problem as regular site users are starting to complain.

The last few times we've submitted on this, when you've tested, the videos of course displayed fine. I'm telling you now that this is NOT the case, and videos fail to display more often than not.

We really need this fixed and appreciate anything you might be able to do to help resolve the issue.

Thanks!

Todd

    Hi
It required the flash player to be supported or installed. I raised the issue to dev team member for fix .
I will update you here soon.

Ok, but what I don't understand is why some videos work just fine and others don't, when each video was entered on the site using the exact same process.

Why should some need flash and others not? And why, on the 2nd or 3rd time we'd try to put the exact same video on in the exact same way, would it work?

    Hi,

You can try to upload this video again. As I check, the video encode was incorrect.

Hi there, we're not uploading videos, that's the thing. These are linked youtube videos. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. We can't figure out what is causing a large percentage of the videos linked in the streams of groups and on profile walls are failing to load while others load fine, when each was linked in the same way.

      Hi Manhta,

Thank you for getting back with me. I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond, but I have been in hospital for the last few weeks.

Regarding the video linked above, it WAS NOT uploaded to the server. We have video uploads turned off and I can confirm that this video was linked using a YouTube URL.

Why the system thinks that some videos are uploaded when they're not is still a mystery!

Thanks for any insight you could give.

      Todd

        Hi
I checked with dev again on this, but we have not found any step to replicate the problem on your site and fresh package as well, I also checked other users site and this issue is not present.
Can you apply the suggestion given by dev and re add the video, Also share steps to replicate, it might be something you edited / change in video that make this issue.

        Here's another one: https://1up.wtf/community/videos/video/108-warhammer-combat-cards-starting-from-scratch?groupid=25

Here are the steps I used to publish the video:

        1) Copy the URL from YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tguK07OcQcM)
        2) Navigate to the group in the 1up JomSocial (https://1up.wtf/community/groups/viewgroup/25-warhammer-40k-combat-cards)
        3) Click the 'video' icon underneath the new wall post field
        4) Copy in the YouTube URL from above
        5) Type in a brief description
        6) Press the Post button

Sometimes posting YouTube videos work. Sometimes it doesn't.

Given your earlier replies to my support tickets, it's clear that your software is perfect and always works as intended. Therefore I'd really REALLY appreciate your help in determining which step described above we have gotten wrong so that we can adjust our usage of your perfect software in order to get it to work.

        Kind regards

          Hi
It appears the members who posting the video deleted the account.
In that case the video and his content also deleted. And it results no video found. If you see carefully you notice the video posted by Guest should does not exist in system.
Also in latest Jomsocial we added YouTube API setting so it fetch the Information. You can see the option in Configuration >> Integration.

          Hi Pankaj,

Apologies for earlier. I bought you a beer. 🙂

Ok, since the member who posted this video was me, and I didn't delete my account, not sure where that leaves us? Could this be a session cookie issue? Is the session timing out and JS treating the post as from Guest instead of throwing an error?

It would also explain the intermittent nature of the issue..?

          What are your thoughts?

            Hi
Till now we tried all option to make noted but it's not found. If you can make a staging site on which I can test with disabled of all extension that may help. As this issue not found in fresh install or by any member here it would be probably or can be an extension issue.

The current site login is not working : Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.
have you added youtube API key in Jomsocial as suggested?

            Regards
