I`m seeking clarification on an element of functionality. I would like to set up multiple moderated communities whereby the user cask a question to the community, the community responds in private to the question. In other words a one to many question and a many to one answer. Can this be achieved?

Any help would be very much appreciated before I make the purchase.

You can do this via Private Message option add your multiple friends in a single chat group and send message.
It will possible only for your friend list and profile privacy user can disallow to get message from any one.
To post all users it will be via postbox and visible for all.
