Moving site to new domain name and I am looking for instructions on how to use the button field and link field on home page slide show, so users can link to the new site before we shut down the current site and instructions on the theme are incomplete

No url etc given as we are setting both sites up on a new server which is not live as yet.

        I have put the details in my original post, having some ftp problems, but you shouldn't need them as I have extplorer installed in Joomla, if required

            As I can see that you already added the link for the slide:

            You can go to Backend >> Extensions >> Modules and check this setting

              On the chance I could learn a bit more about the template features I haven't used before, I downloaded the quickstart package and uploaded it to an unused domain and dug into the backend, and what I wanted to achieve actually turned out to be quite simple, so a bit red in the face about having asked the question in the first place.

              Anyway thanks for your offer to help, even though in the end I didn't need it, it was much appreciated
