Galleries are gone???

My galleries, those inside articles, are not accessible!!!
(I am writing this "funny" because previously I was not able to send, receiving site response the I am not allowed to do that)

I am now adding more info:
All of a sudden, ALL the functionality of the gallery (those photo galleries within articles) stopped working. I am not sure exactly when. The galleries display in articles that already have them, but I cannot create new ones (the blue button in the Content Manager appears but when clicked, open a regular New Article.) And when trying to edit articles that have the gallery, the gallery does not show.

ANYTHING you can help me will be appreciated. If you don't, you are "sentencing" us to hours of creating new "plain" articles to replace the your gallery items.

It may be related to the fact that "JA Tabs Plugin for J3.x" would not update, telling me:
"Error
Failed to extract file: download.php_element_plg_system_jatabs_version_2.6.8_type_plugin_16_coreVersion_j16"

May also be related to the fact that JA Focus Template won't update from 1.0.4 to 1.0.5.
"Error
Failed to extract file: download.php_element_ja_focus_version_1.0.5_type_template_coreVersion_j31"

This is about the Gallery issue you are facing in Article view.
I need the Article Page URL on which the issue is present and a temp super user login via EDIT FIELDS options in the first post.
Once you submit them kindly let me know with a reply here.

About the update kindly use JA Extension Manager to update JoomlArt extensions and templates. Joomla update system is used for notifications only.

OK, it does appear to be the file format of the attachment. Crazy that you make me waste many hours on this without giving me a clue in the error message... "You can't do that" is not very helpful since it does not mention where the error is.

Thanks for the response. We were planning on launching in the next 36 hours and this is "killing" us.

I don't know what you mean by "temp super user login via EDIT FIELDS options". What are "EDIT FIELDS options"?
The problem is not seen in article display but in admin mode from backend. When I create a new article from the blue choosing gallery, a gallery is not created. When I try to edit the article, I do not get the gallery options (those that allow me to manage the images).
At this point, I will be happy with an easy way to convert all the gallery article to regular articles. Is there a way?

It appears you have not set the JA Focus template as default or using outdated version of the extension and template.

In response:
1. JA Focus is the default. Has been from the very beginning...;-)...
2. I know Focus needs an update, but the update kept failing.
2. As you suggested, I installed the JA Extension Manager and tried to update Focus. See attached "JA_Focus_Update-fail.jpg"
3. Similar failure occurs when I try to update the JA Tabs extension.

I upgraded your permissions.
Do you mean to say that my login into the admin side of our website (username/pw) need to be the same username/pw as my access into Joomlart? I tried that and it did not do the trick, but maybe I did something wrong.
Is there documentation on this issue anywhere? Thanks.

Gallery issue solution :
The cause of issue is CW Multicategory extension that override the Joomla MVC and use its own.
The Content plugin is designed to work for core Joomla system only.
Disable System - CW Multicats Plugin and check there is no issue for gallery.

About JA Extension manager topic http://prntscr.com/13c7mwp you need add JoomlArt Login

You can also download latest version of template and install that. but you must take backup of site and custom changes first.

Thank you for the quick responses.

Please note that for ~2 days I was not able to respond to your message. Some times the login did not work. Other times other problems. I hope this will work.

As to the matter at hand: Good news. Bad news. Really bad news...

In the spirit of your instructions, I disabled the five extensions that seemed related to CW Multicats... Those are:
1. Ajax - Multicats*
2. Content CW Multicats -Page Navigation
3. Quick Icon - CW Multicats Updates Notification
4. System - CW Multicats Plugin
5. System - MVC Override for CW Multicats

By disabling those extensions, the problems I was experiencing with the galleries in articles got resolve. That was good! BUT…

After disabling those extensions, I noticed a problem the in the articles list. See the attached screenshot and notice that categories were not appearing in the article line items. After trying all I could think of, I decided (my mistake) to not settle for disabling those extensions, but to “trash" them entirely. This was bad…

As a result, I now cannot even display the articles list. I can display the categories list, though...

I also still really need a multi-category extension to work with my JA Focus site.

So:
1. I will greatly appreciate any and all suggestions on how to recover from the problem with the articles not listing any longer… How should I address the problem created by the removal of the extensions described above? What/how can I recover to restore?
2. Do you have any recommendations for a multi-category extension I can use without conflicts?

Multicategory extension is override Joomla vote structure thaat is the issue. The upcoming issue not from template it's between the MCW and Joomla. As Joomla does not allow to this structure. Maybe you have to contact the extension provider on this also you can disable the plugin I sent it and it will fix the problem.
There are option in extension for Joomla core change I am not aware about this extension working so I suggest to get in touch with provider.

Sorry I do not know same extension like this as we support Joomla core system by default and using this it make issue later like it is now on your site.

At this point, my most (and only) critical issue is that the "Content Manager:Items" is broken. That you can see from the image I attached yesterday. For now, let's leave the multi-category issue aside.

If you can, please advise me how to restore the backend "Content Manager:Items" to a working order. I created this problem when I removed (trashed) the five extensions.

If you not removed the Database of this extension you can install it again and it will get same setting again after that you can check the items. If they connected with this extension as it's not in Joomla there is no option to recover you have to contact the provider only for some custom fixes so if you not use the extension it will not break your Joomla content.

We cleaned up everything from CW and now everything works as before we added it. BUT we are still need, badly, the ability to assign one article to two categories so that it displays in lists of either.

Do you have any suggestions? Does Joomlart have a similar extension? Any other ideas? Am I missing something obvious on how to do this seemingly not that rarely needed task?...😉...

Sorry we follow core Joomla feature and not suggest to make a thing that customize code. You can raise this request on Joomla forum as its something that need to be customized in core Joomla.
