I am unable to log in using the hello_me module. I can successfully log in using the joomla login module, as well as the component login for jomsocial on the community page. When I tried using the hello_me module, I have had different results. At first, it gave me an ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS error; however, I changed the jomsocial redirect plugin, and now it just refreshes the page. However, on the back end, it shows that I am logged in.

I have included my credentials; however, if you make any changes, please let me know what you did so I can replicate. This is a staging server, and I have to make the same changes on our live server once we install there.

Thanks!

    Hi Pankaj,
The settings were already like you suggested. I cleared cache, although cache is no enabled right now anyway. Are you able to access the site through the credentials I included in my original post?

      Hi
No its not same, kindly check my screenshot again its taken from your site and no redirection is setup. Once you setup kindly login first and check

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I changed both to "Home" but it did not seem to help, unless I am still misunderstanding what you need me to do.

By the way, the site is a test site, so you are free to change things, as long as you tell me what you changed.

        Hi
I got it, kindly update Jomsocial to latest version that has many bug fixes.
        After that login and check.
When you have system redirection Jomsocial plugin is ON it will use that redirection that is set to community page.
Apart from this all is normal

I have updated JomSocial. I also set all redirects to go to Community in both the hello_me module and the redirect plugin. It appears that the redirect actually works, but it just doesn't log me in.

          Hi
It seems something wrong when login. allow me to check it on Monday with dev team member as this issue only on your site.

Ok, thanks! And just as a reminder, please let me know what you all end up doing to fix it, as I will need to replicate the fix on the live site when we finish the migration.

I am still unable to log in. I cleared cookies, and that did not help. I also upgraded Joomla, which did not help.

Actually, it appears to be working now. That's a bit concerning that it isn't 100%... What did you all do to fix?

Edit: It looks like the Hikashop login is now not working. (It was working last night). So I think the fix may have created a conflict of some sort? You can see this by going to "Hikashop Test", finding a product and adding it to your cart, and then trying to log in within that component when you go to checkout.

              Hi
The fix is only added in the JS Hello me module files.
No other change in the site you can unpublish the JS hello me module and check 3rd party extension login part if there is issue.

Do you know what files were affected? We will need to replicate that fix when we move to the live site.

                20 days later

I thought I would update this for anyone who stumbles upon this down the road with a similar issue. Turns out this was not a JomSocial issue, or any other Joomla component. The issue was related to server-side caching. Apparently a lot of hosting companies are optimized for Wordpress (which authenticates users by cookie only), but not Joomla (being more secure and using form tokens), even though they might say that they are optimized for Joomla. I ended up finding Fotis with JoomlaWorks who worked us through all of the issues and found us a solution that was much faster than we had previously. So if you are having issues like I did, it is probably best to look at your server situation.
