Layoutprobs after T4 plugin update

Hi,

since the T4 plugin update I have really severe layout problems on ALL of my websites based on T4 templates.
For example on https://www.steinerschule-bergstedt.de/ the menu-links are shown in a colour which isn`t defined in any palette.
Titles in the masterhead modul are not shown in white colour any more (e.g. https://www.steinerschule-bergstedt.de/kontakte).
Mobile menu settings are different than before the update.

I saw that in this installation we have a lot of new css-files which are now relevant and other existing css settings are neglected although they were working properly before the update.

Is there a fundamental change in css or what has changed? It`s causing a lot of troubles at the moment...

As I can see the the link color is inherited the color set in 'Light' palette now, could you tell me which color you want to set for the menu?

By default, this template doesn't use the JA Masthead module, it shows the title of each page in 'masthead' section of template and that's why the title on your site doesn't have white text, I updated this custom css into your site:

    color: #fff;
    font-weight: 600;
}

Thanks very much for the changes in JA Masthead - this is fine!

For the menu the colour of sub menu level should be blue #0069b4 and hover pink #b80e80.

Could you change that?

Then I struggle with the mobile menu. Actually it was displayed on the left side without having mega menu or canvas enabled. After update the mobile menu is gone....
I just activated canvas, but there the sub menu items disappear suddenly after opening.... Wouldnt it be possible to show mobile menu as before, that means automatically and without enabling canvas oder mobile menu? I dont have any glue, why this has changed...

Could you please have a look why the mobile menu isnt working any more since the t4 update? This is really a severe problem as website cant be used via mobiles.

Hi,

we made a roll back to T4 plugin version 1.1 and the the mobile menu is working as before.
So please don`t make any changes in this version.

I think there is a severe bug in the plugin in the later versions, isn`t it?

Would it be a good idea to make a copy of the version with the newest T4 plugin , so you can have look at it or do you already know, what`s the problem with the plugin?

Could you clarify the issue of the menu with new version?

In the new version of T4, we update the effect for the off-canvas, you may need to configure again for it under Template >> Navigation >> Off-canvas:

After updating T4 we have the same severe issues with the mobile menu as before.

Therefore we set up a copy of the website on our dev server. Please have a look at it - I`ve updated the site URL, the admin account is the same.

Please have a look at the site, mobile version. I`ve set up the menu like this:
- mega menu only for desktop
- off canvas for small screens.

After that we have two issues:
1. we don`t want to have the logo on the off canvas menu
2. if you click on a menu item, the sub menu items are shown for some seconds, the the submenu is closed again.

I can`t understand this problem, as we use other templates with the same settings and everything is working fine and as expected....

If you want to remove the logo in off-canvas, you can edit the off-canvas layout in this file:

/plugins/system/t4/themes/base/html/layouts/t4/layout/offcanvas.php

About the off-canvas menu, somehow, it still keeps the old style as when we updated T4 framework, there are updated style for menu in off-canvas. I just re-compile scss on your site so it can be updated.

I backup the file: /templates/ja_landscape/css/template.css so you can see the difference.

Hi Saguaros,
I have the same problems with the mobile menu again!! If you open a submenu, you ar directly routed to the main menu item. Clicking on a submenu item isn`t possible.

Now the site is running on Joomla 3.10.1, T4 plugin is 2.0.2.

Why doesn`t it work like before? Could you please have a look at it?

Hi Susanne,

I just checked the off-canvas on mobile of your site and it's working normally:

In the new version of T4 framework, it has update for off-canvas so that now when you click the arrow of parent menu item, it will lead you to the sub-menu items, not show dropdown like before. This would be good for site which has so many items.

thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately the off-canvas menu doesnt work as it should. If you click on one of the top-level menus to see the sub menu items, these sub-menu items are shown for 2 seconds and the you are routed to the first sub-menu item (where a menu alias is set).(see attachement) There is no possibility to choose one of the other sub menu items. nd I cant see the behaviour, you`ve mentioned in your answer.

Please give me support as the mobile website can`t be used in this way...

It seems that you use old version of template.

Could you backup your site and update latest version first?

I`ve updated the template to 2.0.0 but without any changes.

The mobile menu looks absolutely different like on our development site (see second link under site url above).

Actually both sites have the same versions of joomla and all the rest of the components etc., but the mobile menu doesn`t work at all!

Do you have any glue? Could this be the same problem as before?

Could you clear your browser's cache? as the off-canvas works fine on both sites now.
