Categories menu mobile - Expand on click level 1 productcategory

This template displays in desktop modus a product categories menu with the level 1 productcategories expanded. When hovering (or clicking, depends on template setting) on a level 1 category then the subcategories show up.

But in mobile modus, the fully menu with all subcategories are expanded already. That are a lot of categories, so the user needs to scroll / swipe al lot down to find to the category he is looking for.

Is it possible to collapse the subcategories in mobile menu for this product category menu? So only displaying the level 1 product categories. And when clicking on a category, the menu expands and then shows the sub categories of that category.

The trigger 'Click/Hover' menu to open dropdown belongs to megamenu of T3 framework only.

On mobile view, it will use the menu module in off-canvas position, this is default menu module and it only has option to show all sub-menu items or not only. You will have to customize style to achieve that or use a 3rd party extensions for menu which support that feature.

Is it possible for you to make this style customization? It would be nice, even a necessary feature to have within the template. I think a lot of other customers of you would like to have that option.

The mobile menu is really too long now. The customer has to swipe several screens to get to the end of the menu. It would be clearer if he just sees the level 1 categories, which he need to expand himself by clicking on it.

We understand this and have recently updated for off-canvas menu in T4 framework. There is no plan for T3 right now, unfortunately.

that's a pity.
Is there a possibility to update the template from T3 to T4? The template (and other older T3 templates) are still great to use nowadays.

It would take time - the same process of implementing a new template as T4 is totally different from T3, it's not an upgrade so you can update easily. Hope you understand.
