I agree that it is very weird. I reinstalled and noticed the following: the problem is created ONLY if you select a layout post where the first paragraph is ABOVE the main image. If the article starts below the image, then the custom field appears normally. There is also another problem (without creating a visible effect at the front end). The articles appears normally (frontend), but the demo articles do not exist in the backend (in Content - articles), but only in future articles and there, the backend layout is broken (see images) and errors appear. I think you should look at it a little more carefully. I do not think it is a problem with xampp because I have installed other quickstarts (J3/4) without any problems. Honestly i do not want to look for another template solution.

These notices due to PHP version only, and actually, it doesn't affect function on your site. You can hide these notices by turning off the Error Reporting in Global Configuration.

The problem appears in specific single items layout: those where the first paragraph is above the Full Article Image. In the rest there is no problem.

Sorry for the late reply but I was out of work.
No unfortunately I can’t. This project will replace a website that is already online and is in WP! The code you sent me two months ago (and obviously incorporated in the last update) solved the custom fields problem, but only in half (as I mentioned in the file above). So I really do not understand what settings to check. It is a simple quickstart J4 installation, without any components/plugins/add-ons, I just created a cf and an article and displayed them using an existing category. Nothing more. Custom fields (if you choose to display them via shortcode) works with some layouts, but not with all. What are these; The ones that the first paragraph (before the "read more") appears ABOVE the main photo (see the previous reply, I mention them in detail). Try to do the same and if there is no problem, then I have to look for it from my side, if not, it is a bug that needs to be fixed by you.

No need, because this is a general problem. Just select an article and set the layout to one of 1,2,5,6,7,8,9,10 (menu – blog layout – article detail layout = 1 or 2, or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10). Here is my testing:

1/ In article: "Jacket Fashion Tips for Petites By Paula Darnell", I add custom field id:5

2/ In menu item 'Models' >> select an article layout:

But on frontend, the custom field displays correctly:

Yes it appeared correctly, because the problem arises when you select one of the article detail layout 1,2,5,6,7,8,9,10. The problem is created ONLY if you select article detail layout where the first paragraph is ABOVE the main image. If the article starts below the image (detail layout 4) then the custom field appears normally. Change the article detail layout from 4 to 5 and you will see the problem.
