Custom footer overwritten

I had a custom footer, and now I can't recreate it since I updated the template. Instead of "Bug", there should be a selection of "Stupidity". I need help getting the footer code resolved, and I need to know how to save this file so it isn't overwritten again.

I went to the file language/en-GB/en-GB-mod_footer.ini. I overwrote the following code:

MOD_FOOTER="Footer"
MOD_FOOTER_LINE1="Copyright &#169; %date% %sitename%. All Rights Reserved."
MOD_FOOTER_LINE2="Custom site development by&nbsp;<a href="http://patvb.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PatVB Web Design</a>."
MOD_FOOTER_XML_DESCRIPTION="This module shows the Joomla! copyright information."

This works, BUT I wanted to add my logo. Whenever I tried to insert my logo, I didn't get what I was looking for. Please tell me how to write the correct information in the file or wherever I should write it... to appear with the first line with the site name and date, but NOT with Joomlart. Then the second line should be the line as it appears here:

The second issue is how to keep this from being overwritten. I just don't want to go through this again.

You can create the override in the Joomla language override options.
If you edit core files they will be override during updates

example you want to create override for this
MOD_FOOTER_LINE2="Custom site development by <a href="http://patvb.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PatVB Web Design</a>."

Open Language override : http://prntscr.com/1qq4idv

Add language constant and values http://prntscr.com/1qq4jjm
save it and it will work as override.
