JomSocial paths and URLs

URLs of JomSocial profiles are long and awkward. What can I do to shorten & simplify them?

Right now, even my backend URLs are something like: /account/my-account/login/profile/

I think this might have something to do with Joomla's user account paths, and not JomSocial's per se? Is there a way through URL re-writing to make them more like: /social/profile ?

The URL depends on the menu item you added for Profile
You have 2 JomSocial frontpage Menu items
JomSocial » frontpage
It should be only one on site also publish the Toolbar menu items.

You have Profile menu under here : http://prntscr.com/1r0aavo
So it will use same menu item as you defined for profile.

Social/profile will work when this menu is under social menu item.

I'm sorry. I'm not following. The menu item I added for Profile? I have two?

I tried publishing the Toolbar menu items, and it says "Component 'com_community' does not exist."

I'm guessing this is because of the menu situation you're talking about?

Open the menu items you will see JomSocial frontpage menu item is repeated two times.
If JomSocial frontpage menu item is set as default menu and you have profile menu item.
All profile will be open as /profile/userprofile alias.

I'm sorry... I think I may have seen what you're talking about. But changing the Login to something other than JomSocial frontpage, didn't change the path of the profiles.

They're still at: /account/my-account/login/XX:username.

If you think it should be configured differently, please make the changes yourself so I can see what you're talking about. I'm lost.

OK. So I moved those under Social and now I get the following profile URLs: https://brewliving.com/social/login/XX:USERNAME

What, can I do to remove the /login at least? Brewliving.com/USERNAME would be the ideal result. Am I forced to use JomSocial as my homepage to accomplish that? I don't want it to be my homepage unless I must.

Is there a URL Rewrite solution if nothing better?

You can simply unpublish the login menu and instead use it as profile.
The username will show after profile menu item not direct.
