I've applied the update for T4 v 2.0.4, and it hasn't fixed it. Was it supposed to?

It works well with default T4 Blank template and others but not for JA Blockk, the team is working on it. Kindly wait.

I've spent the weekend recreating what I had before I attempted to upgrade T4 and the template. It has been a mess. The logo was missing or overwritten, modules were missing, and I lost some custom.css files for the JCE editor. I am not going to upgrade anything on this site until I have your assurance it will not destroy or overwrite what I've worked so hard on. And it hurt to lose two days of time getting this straightened out.

Hi Pat,

As our discussion, we notice the modules missing only, for the 'custom.css' file, do you mean that it was removed also?

I had to reset all the logo information. It overwrote the Site Settings when I did a rollback to a previous version of the site T4 and template. I had to do a site restore from August 20 because I was stupid enough to not do a backup everytime I made a change in the JAEM. Live and learn. Especially with T4 and how sensitive it is right now.

After restoring the site, I checked and saw that the template had an update. I thought, why not? I know better than to attack the T4 update because of known issues. I did perform an Akeeba backup before attempting updates today. When I did an update for just the template, the top and bottom header and footer were gone, just as when the T4 was updated. I tried to do a rollback, but the rollback didn't work. I kept getting the same template version, and the same issue.

I performed an update on the site and it is back to where the latest work I did on the site. Is the T4 issues related to the template updates?

patvandenbosche I thought it due to T4 but when I tried to replicate the same with T4 Blank template, it works normally. I meant new blocks added are still there when updating new version of template. So I guess it relates to JA Blockk template specific. I will update here when having news.

Thanks, I'm not touching T4 or the template until I hear from you that they work with Blockk. It's a shame I can't use the latest features on the site. I'm sure your team will get this fixed.

I hate to keep asking, but is the T-4 extension compatible with JA Blockk yet? There have been 6 upgrades since I opened this ticket, and there have been 2 upgrades to the template JA Blockk. How long should it take for this issue to be addressed?

These updates are for Joomla 4, if you want to update, you can backup your site and update these new versions.

This is now almost 6 months later and I am no closer to resolving this issue. What is the status of JA Blockk and JAEM and T4 plugin? If I want to update to the latest version of JA Blockk, what path would you recommend? I admit I've lost faith in the team working on this.

It's issue of JAEM component, not T4 or JA Blockk template. Our developer is working on this to fix the issue.

If you want to update template now, pls try this way:

1/Backup your site first
2/Backup this folder: /templates/ja_blockk/local/etc/layout/ - you may copy JSON files in this layout folder to somewhere in your PC
3/Update new version of template via JAEM
4/Copy the JSON files you backup in step 2 to: /templates/ja_blockk/local/etc/layout/

These JSON files store the settings in template.

Template upgraded OK, but not completely. I had to reinstall the logo settings and rebuild the main menu display as a mega menu. That can be redone, but what a headache. Was there a way to have saved the settings for it? I don't want to have to do this again. Apparently it wasn't part of the JSON files that saved the settings for the template.

I thought you changed in layout settings only, if you change in Site settings (for logo) and navigation (for megamenu), you can backup the same JSON files of these sections:

ROOT/templates/ja_blockk/local/etc/site/default.json
ROOT/templates/ja_blockk/local/etc/navigation/default.json

It changed so much that I dreaded doing an update. Now, thanks to you, I know what files to copy locally and reinstall afterwards if this comes up anywhere again.

Are the files in the same paths in Joomla 4?

I've been able to get everything back by copy/paste the old JSON files, but now I need to know if I update the JA ContentListing module, is there anything I need to save like the JSON files so I don't lose anything?
