I wonder why I can still see unpublished articles and it says "Unpublished" right under the title?

Your site is on off-line mode now, when you log into your site with administrator permissions, the 'unpublished' articles will still show. It's default behavior of Joomla.
But it will not be visible in public view, so don't worry.
