In my example for new module position of language switcher, you can see that I guided to add under the search section, you can also remove the search there.

The icon search have not a position.
You not reply about the footer image
paky50 I did not mention it as a position thought. You can use this custom CSS to hide it:
.t4-action .search-action { display: none; }
For the image, it's overlay background in footer block, you can change / remove it in Layout Settings:
