It looks like the issue in your credentials in PayFast, could you try to contact its support for help to check this?
saguaros I have tested multiple details and they all fail. I tried the sandbox details and also tried the live details and they all give the same error.

I’ve figured that the plug-in works without the paraphrase but then after successful payment, the website gives a “payment for registration cancelled” error
