Hi
The template settings are based on the T4 framework and it will remain same as its core system to change the settings of layout, theme , menu system and more. It is pretty easy to navigate in current system already.
not sure what your comment means. I do not see any option in the template settings or configuration to enable boxed mode as was previously available for the JA templates.

There is no setting for boxed style in the template setting. May I know what page you want to have boxed style or you want it for the whole site?
For such thing, we may need to use custom CSS.

I do have a look on the website and the content on your site Homepage using the Slideshow, welcome message and Gallery.
All are based on box grids system. Can you Provide an illustrated screenshot which module/section you want to give a box look? As the view of each item based on the container size.
