Optimize CSS breaks page

When I activate "Optimize CSS" my page breaks and looks like no CSS is loaded at all.
How can I fix this issue?

When enabling Optimze CSS option, css files will be compressed and stored in 't3-assets' folder on your site. However, these css files are not accessible now so it causes issue. Kindly check again the permission of this folder as css files there have 403 error now.

Thanks, but the permission of the folder is the same as on other sites, where it works?

I tried changing the folder, subfolders and files to READ/WRITE/EXECUTE - same result ...

I think I have located the error - or at least a solution.
In Admin Tools I have added /t3-assets to the option: Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories

thrane Maybe Admin Tools blocks access to that folder, is that ok now?
