Manit "database deletion without backup" Are you serious?

From the beta versions there where comments of concern about the dependency of the Builder and you told us that you would solve it "on the next version". We waited and trusted. Now, some years later, this issue is really problematic for us. You are not telling that you will fix this feature. All web pages will still depend on your databases. Then, this problem might occur again at anytime.

For me, it's kind of a "bye bye" from JA Page Builder. I was thinking about using T4 Page Builder but now i'm really concern about trusting on your tech more than twice.

I'm aware that errors might happen to any one, but not this kind of errors. I'm trying not to tell you any angry words about it. It's just that we based our websites on your tech and now you've really disappointed us.

Now I must take care of some hundreds of webpages based on JA Page Builder.

Yes, JA Builder is developed with special tech / model and the new T4 Builder is implemented in another way.

This is the first time we've encountered this issue, unfortunately and we totally understand your frustration on this. If possible, you can share the pages that you want to re-create and we're happy to support you.

I would like to know if you can give us a date when it will be possible to edit at least the content from the HTML too.

saguaros Hi - Two Questions please:
1 Is it possible to copy the old pages HTML from the site JA Builder database and paste it into a new page in T4 Builder and get the same display?
2 If we copy the HTML code from the content column in the sites JA Builder pages table and paste it into an article will the article display exactly as the old JA Builder page did?

saguaros Don't you tell me that in the server moving process you didn't have a procedure to create a DB backup manually? I'm not a developer, nor a designer, but if I need to do significant changes manual DB backup even in phpmyadmin 2 clicks. Or if it's not possible the process should be like "CHECK if everything transferred successfully BEFORE wipe the old server, ". I hope your sysadmin who did that wasn't too expensive.

Hi - How will you be informing us when you have some sort of solution to retrieve / recover pages?

Not having archived back-ups in this day and age is mind blowing! I only manage a couple of hundred websites but I have daily back-ups running and hold 5 weeks worth of back ups on a rolling basis. AND I also have a disaster situation remote backup with Amazon holding backups taken every 3 months, holding a year of backups. I wouldn't have anything less for my number of websites. You guys need to re-evaluate your disaster recovery plans!

Rebuilding your clients web pages is the least you can do but realistically I see this taking months and months of waiting for them to be rebuilt. And then there's the question of if they are built exactly the same or or not, will there be bits missing? Will we get to evaluate them before they go live?

I'm taking screen shots of all pages for my own reference now, this is an EPIC disaster, I'm not sure you will fully recover this, it's all about damage limitation. I really hope you are pulling out all the stops to get this resolved as fast as possible whatever the financial hit it may cost you.

I've downloaded the updated version and I've tried to edit the pages created before the issue. I see a blank page and no content to edit. How doest this update work?

The preview opens in a very small window at the bottom of the screen with no way to change size, which is a little frustrating

I have just tried the new version. I Installed it as easy as usual. When I started to edit an pre 08/10 page I found a simple (so really simple) html editor. While it does not solve the main issue I think that this is a very good turn around and finally a good tool. Let me explain my self.

A direct editing of the database should always be avoided as much as possible. With this feature, we can edit the code without messing up with the database.
There is no mistake in finding up which page is being edited at any moment.
The code is clearly organized. So you can easily find whatever you are trying to edit.

I'd like a full size preview (right now it is so tiny!) and a flexible editor's size. But It's not a great issue (for the moment).

PS. Please, just back up everything as often as possible.

Manit Hi - Are you still trying to find a solution to easily allow pages to be recovered and the database updated or is the HTML editor the best you can do for pages before 8th Oct. In lots of cases we update pages by cloning then modifying blocks in page builder. Doing this in HTML editor will be far less productive.

Is it possible that you have an older backup of the JA Builder database and can create a tool that allows records to be cloned into the new database?

Thank you @Manit, it works now, I've thought it was enough to update the component... instead you need to install the whole package again.

The new update with HTML editor helps you to update simple content , style for old pages quickly. If you need to customize that page, we can support you to achieve that.

Creating new page is working normally now.

The HTML editor doesn't show all the blocks...as I wrote in my ticket but nobody answered.

So we don't have a solution working well right now...

I ask for rebuilding websites and I got this answer: "We have limited human resource, if you want to edit old page, please list that page specific, it's hard to re-create all old pages for now".....and, in my opinion, these words are different from "you can share the pages that you want to re-create and we're happy to support you." (as you can read above in this page).

So Joomlart it's time to get serious and clear about the issue you caused:

do we have to rebuild the websites ourselves? or are you goin to help?
Are you still tryin to find a solution to edit old blocks or not?

I appreciate your work, but just be clear in what you write here.

I replied in that ticket, we're happy to help to re-create pages for you. The new update with HTML editor will help you to edit content if you need to edit it urgently. We have many requests to re-create pages and it can't be done soon so as I mentioned in the ticket. If you're working on any pages now, you can list that page in the ticket so we can re-create for you.
