It's solid black and I want to make it my brand color. I also put the JomSocial toolbar in there, but it's definitely not the same toolbar showing up on the default menu.

The default menu has a search icon, messages, notifications, etc. But if you look at the JomSocial menu, none of those icons are in it.

I want to remove the default location of the JomSocial toolbar and either put it in the topbar area (which would be more like Facebook if I could do that, and get all those icons) or in the header search area.

    I don't see the head search section as you mentioned, do you mean this header?

    You can customize its background color:

    #t4-header {
    background: #080808 !important;   /*change to your desired color here*/
}

    For toolbar, do you mean this one, right?

    It's stick with component section so if you want to have it displays on top, you can clone a layout in which you remove all sections above 'component' section and add some style for it.

        saguaros - Yes! That's the right one. Thanks for the info. No wonder it didn't change colors. I thought it was a section controlled by the palette.

            cityhomestead Some sections have style of palettes and some are from template.

            That section inherits style of template.

            Let me know if you need any further helps.

              I was told to put my template default back to the original Flix template, instead of making a copy of Flix and modifying the copy.

              Can I create my own templates for the headers, or am I stuck with the default ones? If you have a tutorial on how to create my own header, footer, and sidebar, I would appreciate a link.

              The only thing I don't like about Flix is that it's two column. Other than that, Flix makes JomSocial perfect...but I need 3 columns so I might have to find a different template.

                Beside the built-in layouts like default, home... you can simply clone an existing layout >> rename it as your new layout and configure as you wish.

                The default layout is there for demo purpose only, you can customize to what you want.
