If you look at the default template for JomSocial, you'll see icons on the right side of the bar, and text links to the left of the icons.

If you look at the menus, under JomSocial, the only options in that menu are the text links but not the icons.

So where are the icons and how do I add them to the header search banner? I added the JomSocial menu to the header, and I love how it looks with the Flix template. I turned off the toolbar in the defalult JS template so I don't have a duplicate menu on the page.

But now I'm missing the icons. I would also like to hide the toolbar from unregistered visitors, and they will see the JomSocial links once they register.

One last thing...can I edit the default JomSocial template? When Flix was installed, I expected to see a new template appear in the JS configuration for templates, but only the default is there. I'd like to change it.

    Hi
I assume you are talking about the JomSocial internal toolbar menu items.
It will show only when it is ON Configuration > Layout
    Here : http://prntscr.com/1vn48e1

Just turn it ON and it will display to normal users only. If you want the menu item content to show only registered you can open each menu item and set access level to registered.

About the JomSoical template JA Flix is a Joomla template that also came with JomSocial style. It is not a JomSocial theme.

Joomla template work all over the site to give same look. and JS theme/templates work only for Jomsocial part. We have 4 JomSocial themes : https://www.joomlart.com/member/downloads/jomsocial/jomsocial-themes

Kindly note if you are using a Joomla template for Jomsocial i suggest you to keep that as using theme on Jomsocial template can make style conflict when there are 2 themes using same style.

Ninja - I was told the Flix template works for Joomla and JomSocial. I'm not the one that installed it. Your staff did.

What I'm interested in are the JomSocial menu items that have an icon instead of a text link. That is, the little messenger icon, search, notifications, etc. How are those icons created, and linked?

As for Flix, I am most likely going to scrap the T4 framework. It doesn't save any of my edits and I've spent days on this issue. I'm switching to Gantry if there isn't a solution, and I'm not the only one that has brought this up. I have a trouble ticket in.

Flix makes JomSocial look awesome. More so than the original template, but doesn't do me any good if I can't save layout changes.

Ninja About the JomSoical template JA Flix is a Joomla template that also came with JomSocial style. It is not a JomSocial theme.

Yes it did work as i said it work all over the site. But as its Joomla template all setting of it will work as template not as Jomsocial theme.

To turn on JS toolbar open Configuration > Layout
      Here : http://prntscr.com/1vn48e1

You will get same icon as in the demo site of JA Flix.

Ninja - I'm familiar with that tool bar toggle switch to turn the bar on or off. But that isn't what I want. If you look on that tool bar, there are a few icons on the right side.

Now, go to menus, and look at the JomSocial menu. Try adding that to the footer, or header and you will see all the JomSocial links EXCEPT the icons on the toolbar. I want to use the JomSocial menu from the menu section, not the toolbar.

So, how do I get the icon links found on the toolbar, but not found in the menu?

Ninja - Is it possible for me to create my own toolbar instead of using the default one? Would that be an HTML template I have to create? A module? A menu with the ability to have icons and/or text?

            Hi
You can create own toolbar bit this will be custom as not relate to Jomsocial and the icon will direct link to the Page not like it is now to show notifications.

JS toolbar module has the same option that you can use on site. I suggest you to use it as making custom will be dedicated task to get same view.
