The updated code is for Joomla 4, the old one like: $item->params->get('menu_text', 1) will not work in Joomla 4.

Are you using Joomla 3? Could you share the details of how to replicate this issue so I can help?

Yes, we use Joomla 3.
We use not visible menu items and other system menue typs like Text Separator.
Some of the objects or Properties you use in the code does't exists.

We use your Template Socialize with JomSocial with PHP 7.4. Latest Versions are installed.

Add System Links like Separator, use normal menu typ with "Display in Menu" = no in tab "Link Type"
