I'm a life coach that will be presenting a free, 5-Day challenge to be streamed in Facebook, but what I really want is to do the live streaming in JomSocial. Does anyone have a solution?

I'll be using Streamyard a my broadcasting software. It would be incredibly awesome if I can just coach from within JomSocial. I'll probably always do the free coaching challenge in Facebook, because that's where my clients hang out. But I'm using JomSocial and Guru to create a client portal for the coaching to continue beyond the 5 days.

The tech people in Streamyard mentioned RTMP as a possible solution but I'm not familiar. Here's what I would like to happen.

In Facebook, you have a group set up. In Streamyard, you sit "behind the scenes" so you can get your camera and mic ready, and of course, check your hair, smile, makeup, and all that jazz before you actually show up in the group.

Streamyard asks where you want to broadcast to. You can choose Facebook group, YouTube, Instagram, etc.

When you're ready, you click go live, and now you are broadcasting within that specific group on Facebook, or wherever you chose. You can also broadcast in multiple places at the same time.

What is the bridge between Streamyard and the Facebook group, and can the same thing be done with JomSocial?

    Hi
Streamyard is a 3rd party platform and it is not clear whether this support stream option for Joomla.
In JomSocial you can directly post the stream link as the live option required the platform integration
It is not possible to suggest built this due to major developments.
You can use facebook live or youtube in JS as they supported as video options. If you required this dedicated option it required custom development and not only plugin but a complete re creation with API setup as media that is beyond the support scope. I suggest you to hire a developer in this case.

Ninja - What do Facebook and YouTube use to stream in JomSocial? Wouldn't that method also be available to StreamYard?

        Hi
YT and youtube has their own platoform for the live videos. that link can be embded. Maybe you can copy the iframe code of your live feed and use it via custom html module on module position that will show to all users.

Thank you. I created an RMTP discussion because that's what they narrowed this down to. Can you please check the new thread?

            Ninja locked the discussion.
