The PHP temporary folder is not set

On completion of installation, I cannot view/upload files to the website (JA Alpha). The warning message on the admin page is:

This folder is the folder that PHP uses to store an uploaded file before Joomla can access this file. Whilst the folder not being set isn't always a problem, if you are having issues with manifest files not being detected or uploaded files not being detected, setting this in your php.ini file might fix the issue.

Have you come across this problem before and how can I update the php.ini file using cpanel?

This relates to the tmp folder in the root directory of your site, kindly check if this folder exists or not, if not, create it.

Then make sure that you set the correct permissions for it: by default, it's '755' for folder

About php.ini file, cPanel in some hostings have option to change it. If you don't have permission, you can ask your host for help to change it.

To find the path of 'php.ini' file, you go to Backend >> Global Configuration >> PHP information tab: Configuration File (php.ini) Path
