T4 Template - change Copyright Information

I am trying to change the copyright information included at the bottom of the T4 Basic template.
I can unpublish the existing Footer Module, which removes entirely the "factory/standard footer.
And I can create a new Module containing the new information I want to display - however, in previous versions of Joomla I could add a bit of code that used {year} and added the year collected from the server side via php to auto complete the (c) year information.
The curly brackets + word year do not work, so the question is, do you know of a short code that will auto pop the current year in numbers, preferably via php from server side?

I attach 2 screenshots that show what I mean - first shows the standard/factory footer info.
The second shows my replacement footer info but shows the {year}and not the numbers that should appear (2021).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The default Footer module is from Joomla core that show the information.
You can create a language override for constant
MOD_FOOTER_LINE2
Example: http://prntscr.com/1ydko3g
And change in value will appear on frontend.

If you use own module in PHP it may have error as it not fetching the correct date code.
You can use custom html module with own text.
Or edit /language/en-GB/mod_footer.ini file to change default Joomla copyrights information.

Thank you for the help.

I couldn't get the overide to work but I dowloaded the entire Joomla installation folders/files, then made a copy of the Languages folder and subsequently the mod_footer txt file.

In that text file I made the required changes and first tried it as an overide in the langauges folder - that didn't work.
I removed it from there & put it in the languages > en-GB folder ...... works a treat.

My solution may be a bit clunky but I now know how to do it and should the file change on updates, I can easily go back into the server to reinstate the changed file. I don't anticipate having to change many such files, therefore whilst it is something to always remember following an update, it is not too much of a chore.

Joomla copyrights are same for every template, i am not sure what u changed and not working. if the changes are not working with out template you can submit the site login in edit fields so i can have a look on it.
