Looking at several posts Joomlart are obviously inundated with requests and even when rebuilding a page more work is required to check it is OK - and get rid of JUB prefix in page names. We have decided to go it alone and when done will not use JA Builder as it's reputation is now flawed. Undecided as to using T4 Builder or looking elsewhere such as SP Page Builder.
We intend to use the following steps:
Create a standard page named “User Update” with a message saying something like “This page is currently being redesigned / updated and will be back on line in the next few hours”.
Create new top-level menu item called Recovery (ACL=Developer), with items “01 Old Page” and “01 New Page” (both with ACL=Public).
• Change the pages menu item to point to the “User Update” page
• Change the pages title and alias to have “-R” Suffix and save
• Change the Recovery menu item to point to the renamed old page
• Create a new page using the original title and alias and assign to the Recovery / New Page item
• Open the old page for viewing / copying
• Edit the new page and paste / replicate content
• Test and compare new v old
• Assign the new page to the correct menu item and test
Does this process look viable?
Anyone used anything else?
