QuickStart with sample data

saguaros Fine, but I personally don't use K2 on the site I want to migrate. Then in the downloads they should provide only the template for Joomla 4, without the QuickStart, so that users can install it independently after updating to Joomla 4.

Right now I am testing the update to Joomla 4 with GK News for Joomla 3.10 and the template breaks the site, so it is necessary to uninstall it and reinstall it after the update to Joomla 4 is successful.

Is it possible that they provide a download only of the GK News template for Joomla 4?

Firstly, we have several templates for News, in the update list for J4: https://www.joomlart.com/joomla4-status/index.php?group=gavick

If you search for news, you will see this:

As you can see that only GK News Refreshed template was updated to J4, Gk News & GK News2 are under progress, they will be ready today so you can use in J4.

saguaros Well, after many efforts I have managed to migrate the site to Joomla 4 (it is a very old site migrated several times from Joomla 1.0 and with many third-party extensions that I have had to find out what they were to uninstall).

In your GK News package for Joomla 4 there is an error in a file (see images), after renaming it the template has been installed correctly. You should correct this for future downloads.

Now it remains to adjust the design. I'll let you know if I have a problem.

Unfortunately there are more bugs in the template. The module positions do not match those of Joomla 3.10.x and I had to add them manually in the /layout/default.php and templateDetails.xml files (specifically the header position).

Also, you can't change the template color from the admin console (footer color links don't work either), and I wouldn't want to override css files.

I have tried placing the GK News Refreshed template that I have installed in a subdirectory and a 500 error appears. Then it is not the solution.

The five articles that I have marked as featured also appear on the front page of the site, although this may be due to my Joomla configuration, right now I do not know where I can correct it so that they do not appear.

saguaros I notice that since this morning I published an article at 11:48, the next one that I published at 18:58 has changed the structure of the URL to:

I don't know if someone on your team has made any changes, but the structure of the URLs cannot change because it is a migration and what I am doing right now is publishing the articles both on the production site and on this test site.

The URLs should stay like this:

saguaros I gave them access to the administration to take a look, not to modify anything, even so, if they have, the best thing is to correct what they have done wrong.

I'm going to restore a backup from yesterday to see if I fix the URLs because I don't know what has been changed, please tell your team not to do anything else.

The GK News template has several bugs that must be solved before it is made available to customers.

The template does not work in any way, I have had to do all the changes manually in the files.

The color change does not work, the CSS or JavaScript compression does not work, neither does the override ...

As I said ten days ago this template must be completely revised.
