You can try with this tweak (pls note that this solution is applied for T4 Blank BS5 template).

Create this directory: /templates/t4_bs5_blank/local/html/com_content/category/ if this directory doesn't exist now on your site
Download attached file >> unzip and copy to above directory:

This worked, thanks! Few follow-up questions.

What is the benefit of placing the override in /local versus the standard template override in /html?
Will this update be applied in the next T4 BS5 release - or will we need to complete this on all future projects?

kars It due to the mockup in this view, currently this mockup is used for BS5 while T4 must support old Bootstrap version when supporting Joomla 3 also. Hence, you can use that override file for now.

About 'local' folder in template, it will help to hold your customization in layout/etc.. so that your custom work will not be lost when updating new version of template.

Right, I understand the local folder will prevent loss in update. I was asking why create layout overrides there versus using the template override feature for com_content. I am asking the benefit or reason for one over the other.

Normally, there is override by default (in T4 templates) for com_content in template folder and customers often add overrides there already. So that's why I suggest to put into 'local' folder

Sounds good. Also, it seems JA should list for download a J3 and J4 version separately - considering this issue and maybe some others yet to be reported?

Hi Saguaros,

While I may be the "first" to recognize the issue - it does not mean I am the last. And this really is a bug. If you set column layout on menu ID for 2,3,4 or whatever - the layout should respect this and not have the issue I provided above in screenshots.

It seems a very easy thing to provide and maintain a J4 version with the corrected/modifed category layout code so template overrides are not required.

I can't see why there would be any argument against this as it makes the template work properly with blog layout configurations.

Hi Saguaros,

We've noticed an issue with the updated J4 blog category layout - there is no CSS support for mobile for Joomla's BS5 layout. On mobile, columns should be full-width on XS and S viewports.

Hello,

You are looking at your demo site - which has different column settings than mine. You provided a layout override which does fix the issue of the last article item not respecting column settings - but this layout only works on desktop.

Checking on an update that works properly on J4. It's been some time now.

Hi Saguaros,

It appears the latest T4 update did correct the original issue of the last blog item not respecting column settings. The previous custom com_content override I was provided was interfering with the update as there are now new CSS provisions. I removed it and all is well.
