T4 - PHP 7.4.26 - PHP 8.0.12 - J 3.10.3

Hi, I'm developing a new site and would like to use the T4 Framework, but I've ran into an issue with the T4-BS5-Default Template producing differing results on my on-line (PHP 7.4.26) system vs my localhost (PHP 8.0.12) system. Both systems are running Joomla! 3.10.3 with the T4-BS5-Default Template. To get started I backup up the on-line system and did a restore to the localhost system. The attached screenshots illustrate the problem. With the same setup on both, except for the PHP version, each is displaying a very different page. Currently I don't have the option to update PHP on the on-line system, and since PHP 8 will be coming, I don't like the idea of developing for a soon to be depreciated version. Will there be an update to T4 in the near future for PHP 8? If not, should I just plan to use T3 and give up on T4?

T4 should work well with PHP 8. Could you share the login info of your live site so I can check the issue?

Okay, I've udated the site access info. The CSSDAorg site is running PHP 7.4.26. I can't currently update it to PHP 8. My localhost site is running PHP 8 so I would like to develop there and be able to use what's developed locally on the online site, but as illustrated in the images what's displayed with PHP 8 is very different than that displayed with PHP 7.

The issue is that the same page, configured and setup the same, except for the version of PHP running on the server displays very differently. Here's a image showing both side by side.

cssdaweb I can't replicate this issue at my end, the important is how you want to achieve, you can switch PHP version on your live site to PHP 8, if there is any issue , just let us know.

unfortunately, I can't change the PHP version on our on-line site, It's controlled by our host (Hostgator).

cssdaweb Then you can switch PHP version in yoru local environment to the same with your hosting and work on it.

Yeah, I could develop locally using the same version of PHP, but I'm concerned that, if we develop the new site for PHP 7 when our host (Hostgator) switches over to PHP 8, it will break the site. We would like to develop the new site using PHP 8, but can't since what's developed under PHP 8 will not work with PHP 7.

I'm a bit confused as you're using PHP 8 on your local host now, is there any issue with it? Your local environment is different from your live hosting and PHP 7 & * are different, it's not ideal to compare it.

You can continue to develop your site in PHP 8, our T4 is ready for PHP 8 so don't worry. If there is any issue in PHP 8, just let us know and we can help.

If I develop our site on PHP 8 (my localhost sytem), then it's not going to work on PHP 7 (our live system). With everything except for the PHP version running on the server being the same, the T4_bs5_blank_default produces a very different appearing page display, e.g. both the large and small logo show up on the with PHP 8, but only the small one shows with PHP 7.

cssdaweb I meant that if your hosting can't upgrade to PHP 8, then you can use PHP 7 in your local environment and continue the development for the site. It'll be the same with environment of your live site.
