I have this problem: trying to reduce the space I set the height to "auto" but this affects the background of the masthhead

Could you share the URL of that page?

You can override with this custom CSS:

#Mod126 .acm-cta.style-dark.show-intro {
	height: 50vh !important;
}

change to your desired value.

and put into the file: /templates/ja_mono/css/custom.css (Create this file if it doesn't exist now)
