Cant activate Kunena Theme MovieMax

Hey there!

I'm trying to activate my kunena 5.2.8 with the JA moviemax theme.

I downloaded the theme from https://www.joomlart.com/member/downloads/joomlart/joomla-templates/ja-moviemax (version 7 Mar 2016 - 1.0.0.) and tried to install via Extensions / Manage / Install but get the following error messages:

Warning
JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
Error
Unable to detect manifest file.

I also tried to extract the files from the zip-file and upload to /components/com_kunena/template, but the theme isnt showing in Kunena Settings / Templates afterwards.

The custom theme is pretty older when template released and does not support for latest versions.
You can use crysisb3 template and apply the style code from the template style options addons :

This will add the style css on Kunena and same will work fine.

I was expecting something like this, but I dont want to use the JA Moviemax theme for the website - my client expects a different template.

Any way around this and just use the template for Kunena?

If you are not using this template in that case the theme style does not make any sense as Kunena template will use its own style on the frontend.

Since you provide the ability to download the Moviemax Kunena Template separately I expected it to work on its own.

No it is part of template on as a style view so it work with Moviemax current template style.

Just in case u like the style you can apply it by copy it for different parts inspect element tool in browser. It will be a custom task to check > apply > test.
