Megamenu configuration Submenu Off

Hi there,
I have an issue with megamenu.

I have a menu item "parent" with other child menu items.
All the child items are hidden: they don't show up in the menu.

On megamenu configuration the parent menu item has Submenu OFF.
On the front end though, that menu item in the menu shows the little triangle on the right and the empty box like if it still had submenu set to ON.

This happened after I turned submenu ON; once I turned it OFF, the menu item never lost the empty submenu box. Let me repeat it: the box is empty because all the child menu items are hidden, but the box still shows up despite Submenu being set to OFF in megamenu configuration.

So the question is: why the menu item in the menu shows the box meant for child items when they're hidden and Submenu is set to OFF in megamenu configuration?

My site is still offline so I can't provide access to it; however, I detailed the issue the best I could.

I'd really appreciate your help: I don't need just to solve the issue but to understand why this happens so not to have the same issue again in the future.

If the show submenu setting is ON in the mega menu for a parent item will show the dropdown.
If Submenu is set to OFF it should not show, either there is some wrong setting or its a bug on site, can you put the site online and submit the site login in edit fields options? this way i can check it directly on your site.

The problem is, megamenu is not responding at all: nothing I set in megamenu configuration (toolbox) affects the way the menu looks: not just the submenu, but icons, the item caption as welll: they're not set in megamenu configuration, but they're still displayed in the menu. It's just totally unresponsive, it seems to be frozen at a previous state, a bit like with cache, but nothing is cached here.
On my local server I have 3 identical sites, and only in one site I have this problem: I've been using megamenu for 3 years and it's not the first site I build with it.
I re-installed the latest T3 system plugin, but nothing changes; is there anything I could/should re-install, hoping to get it working again?
I am running Joomla 4.0.4 with Morgan template.
As I said, I can't put the site online now, so that seems that I need to find a solution alone to what looks like a bug and may happen again in the future if we don't get it solved.
I'd appreciate any help.

I tried to replicate it on Morgan quickstart for Joomla 4 and it working normal

I know that, as I said I have 3 sites and only in one of them I get this problem; maybe something got corrupted.
As I asked: is there anything I can re-install to get it unstuck? Can I download the T3 framework and re-install it as any other extension? Any advice?

I think I found out what's wrong: there are 2 separate and apparently unrelated issues:

PROBLEM 1
Steps to reproduce the issue:
1. create a (ONE) menu item with access = GUEST
2. the menu stops responding to any change in megamenu unless you select in megamenu configuration access = GUEST. Any change in the menu in question requires you to set the access = GUEST in megamenu configuration.

PLEASE NOTE
even if you unpublish/trash/empty-the-trash* the only menu item with access = GUEST, megamenu configuration still needs you to set access= GUEST to apply any change to the menu that once had the item with access = GUEST.

PROBLEM 2:
megamenu doesn't work for menus in the footer: so far I tried with menus put in position footer 1 and footer 2.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
create a menu item type HEADING having (taking the demo site as example) Research as parent, in Services menu.
what happens: the parent ITEM (research) gets instantly a submenu with the child item in it and there is no way to delete it (submenu=OFF) via megamenu configuration.

PLEASE NOTE : because of time zone I can only get an answer a day from you: I'd really appreciate if we could solve this thing asap.

The problem 1 and 2 u mentioned in last reply are actually not issue, it does work like this when menu item have ACL selected.
By default T3 only support default Joomla access level for menu item and work different setting for Gues access when it has.

About the Footer menu items mega menu support only for the mega menu options means for the header part where it exist. All other places will show normal by normal Joomla menu module.

but problem 1, I don't think it should be like this: I checked on an Joomla3 site and you don't need to switch to guest in megamenu to configure the menu if you have menu items with access= GUEST.
Plus: as I said, now you still have to set GUEST in megamenu even after you deleted the items with access= GUEST. That looks a bug to me.

Can we fix that and make it work like in Joomla3?

The ACL work like this to apply setting for different menu item access level in megamenu.
If u said there is no menu item with guest access and it still you have issue please post the site login in edit fields as without site access it is hard to assume things when it working fine in new installations.

Let me know once the site is online for test.

once again: you need to set ACCESS = GUEST to change anything in that menu, not just the single menu item with ACCESS=GUEST and in Joomla3 Megamenu didn't work this way.
I checked with demo sites of templates with Joomla3 (JaLAwFirm) and 4 (Morgan). If you're kind enough to spend a minute on it and give it a try you'll see what I mean.

on frontend no submenu for home menu

Has any of the menu items in that menu (mainmenu) ACCESS=GUEST? YES or NO?
If you don't set at least one of the menu items in that menu with ACCESS= GUEST you won't reproduce the issue I am talking about.

I set one menu item to Guest in that case it apply same settings there as T3 megmenu work when we have same ACL. The same work when u have different language applied in one main menu. In terms of ACL there is limitation as it also only support 4 access level.

About turn off megamenu with Guest the option still work fine, make sure you need to refresh the page to get updated view in mega menu.

Sir from your answer it seems that you haven't read what I've been posting so far.

I can just repeat:
1. once you set a menu item ACCESS=GUEST,
2. you apply any change to the menu via megamenu,
3. save megamenu configuration and then
4. save and close the Template Style.

from that moment on (clear the cache, reload) megamenu requires you to set ACCESS=GUEST to change anything in the menu, submenus and all the rest (icons, caption), for ANY menu item in that menu.
It did not work this way in J3, I checked on a demo site (JaLawFirm) as well, so I guess it's a bug.

If you're not willing to look into this, can I speak with someone else? I'd provide any detail again and do some testing if necessary.

As i am not able to replicate this issue, this is why i shared info with screenshot as i setup the same already.
For more i am raising this as ticket for QA to check it when they update template to next version so it can be confirmed for Mega menu working.
