Replace homepage with non search-component option

Rather disappointed by a recent response (or lack thereof) to another post (which was unceremoniously closed without actually helping), I decided to create this post which might help finally resolve the issue by looking at it from another point-of-view.

For some unknown reason, Joomlart decided to have this template's homepage be a search-component, seemingly providing no added benefit when compared to the traditional search-module, while, at the same time, and rather unfortunately, completely eliminating Joomla's standard 404 function (which is rather important).

Alas, whenever anyone mentions this 404 issue, Joomla's support seems adamant in ignoring the (questionable) decision to use a search-component as a homepage, and bluntly states this is a Joomla CMS issue, and not a template issue. This is not helpful.

Fine, I understand this is how Joomla's search-component functions. I don't question this. What I do question, however, is why did Joomlart, knowing this, decide to use a search-component as a homepage, when other options might easily be available, and which, could ultimately benefit other Joomlart clients via possible changes to future versions of this template. That's why I'm here...to help solve my issue, and anyone else's who might come across this.

Ultimately, as this post's title suggests, I would like to know if there's any alternative homepage types that could be used. Maybe an ACM, or maybe even simpler, a Custom module (possibly copy-pasting the HTML from the current homepage's intro/search css block <found at "t3-mainbody" class="layout-search">).

Is this possible?

cemsdb understand this is how Joomla's search-component functions. I don't question this

This is concept of the template design and theme to get search on the Home page as its a City guide template and use to show as a guide for users to search what they are looking on it.

You can change the Home page type to any other bu the exact same search view does not show there. It is already built template with this type and Joomla has default redirection on search just to get max search result for user. I will share the feedback to concern team for further plans on new template.
I did checked to see if there is some change can make it how u want it in core Joomla but its not something to make change in template side.
On this once i am sorry but this is not possible to make change in core Joomla as its default how Joomla search work.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

I understand and appreciate the concept for this particular template design, which is inspired by search-engines. That's the reason I chose it, only to discover its limited 404 capacity later on.

Here are some very specific questions, numbered, to help us resolve any remaining doubts, as I still believe there are potentially simple solutions available, for my problem, and future versions of this template (instead of an altogether new template in the unknown future).

Please respond to each numbered question if you can.

Instead of choosing a search-component-menu item as the homepage, couldn't the search feature simply have used a typical search-module?

I'm supposing the answer is yes, considering many Joomlart templates have a search-box on the corner of their homepages, and apparently, the search-box-module provides exactly the same results as the search-component-menu.

As such:

Couldn't Joomlart have placed a typical search-module (search-box) in the middle of the introductory-block via CSS or HTML?

If so:

Doesn't it make sense for Joomlart to customize a typical search-module to do exactly what the search-component-menu does, and make it look the same way; and ultimately include this custom-search-module in future versions of this template?

I'm not looking to make changes to Joomla core. I'm simply trying to improve this particular template with potentially easy solutions, instead of waiting for a new search-template to come along in the future (as it might be a while).

Hi i shared the details for it in my last post you can change the menu type yes but the view would not be same as the output is from the Menu that u see on the Homepage when search type is set as default menu.

This is an already released template and making such customization is not possible now in core for developers as support request as it needs dedicated time and code rebuilt for single site customer. I hope you understand what i mean as its already built up template code. You have to make changes at own for this customization request as it is something not in support scope.
