Strange behavior for Home2 theme

For some reason, when I try to use the Home2 layout in ja_candidate for everything / all my menu items, the articles show up with a different layout. When I tried to duplicate the home2 template, and add a component to section7 module position, and assign the template copy for component, it did not work.

It was the fact that the home2 template didnt make use of the component in layout. I think its fixed now, but when I began, i could not get it to work.

The homepage of your site has menu item type of 'Featured Contacts' and as I can see that the featured contact is showing in component block on homepage now:

saguaros I had to add 'component' to home2 to get the template to work as expected. Once I installed the quickstart, and chose to use the home2 layout for all pages, the blog and contact page would not display, nor would jomsocial 4.8.1. The only way I found to get what I wanted was to edit section 7 in layout and instead of being a module position, I used 'component'. Unfortunately, now jomsocial is not working properly with this template using the home2 layout as default.

As our demo site and quickstart installation, we recommend this way:

1/ Home layout should be assigned to homepage only as our template often has special design for homepage so the 'Home' layout is created for this.

2/ Use 'Default' layout for default template style of template so all other pages will have component and other positions/ blocks.

I understand, but I could not get the ‘default’ template to match the home2 logo and menu layout. For this theme, I prefer the way the home page is now. When I tried to do what you suggest, the default layout did not match the home2 layout.

As I mentioned, the home layout is created specific for homepage so it will be different from default layout.

I want to get the default layout (Logo text and main menu/navbar) to look exactly like the homepage. I will be using jomsocial for memberships/accounts. I also hope the be using Guru Pro for Joomla 4; if the update is released soon. If you look at the "OUR MISSIONS" menu page, that secondary horizontal category listing on some of the other areas would be a big plus.

aldenbaker You can simply configure the layout for 'default' one to look the same as home layout.

About Guru, it will depend on update and testing progress, our dev team are still working on it. There are so much differences in J4 while this component was developed very long time ago so it would take time a bit. Appreciate your patience on this.
