Any news an this topic? We are highly dependent on the Ad Agency component.

If your developers do not make the component Joomla! 4 compatible, we will have to abandon our website at the end-of-life of Joomla! 3.10.x because it will no longer be able to finance itself.

I suspect many other customers feel the same way as we do, only they don't yet know anything about the fact that no Joomla! 4 compatibility is planned. They will be faced with a fait accompli by 17.08.2023 at the latest if Ad Agency does not work with Joomla! 4.

We think you should at least inform your customers publicly and prominently in the description of the component that no Joomla! 4 compatibility is planned, so that potential customers can decide whether they want to back a dead horse.

With kind regards

Peter Kaminski

    Hi
At the moment there is no plan, if its added the concern team will update it.
The extension is not mentioned for Joomla 4. About the update i shared a strong feedback to team manager and got update that team will re think on this but not in current cycle as Guru update first.

    Hello Ninja,

it is not mentioned for Joomla! 4, but you should prominently inform your customers in your product descriptions, that they buy a dead horse. It will die on 17.08.2023, because you decided to not make it Joomla! 4 compatible. Your new Ad Agency customers have the right to know, that they are led into a dead end, if they buy your component.
You should come clean to your customers if you continue to sell this component. The only alternative for this approach is to make the component Joomla! 4 compatible! Otherwise, it would be misleading to continue selling this component if it is not clearly stated that it will become useless on 17.08.2023.

So please tell your business leaders that it is in their best interest to continue to develop the component beyond 2023 and to continually adapt it to new Joomla! versions! That's the definition of a software company, isn't it?

    With kind regards

    Peter

      Hi
I already sent the feedback to the lead teams on this. The extension is not planned for the Joomla 4. After last feedback it is sent again for discussion for Joomla 4.

In the Joomla! 4 compatibility check, the Ad Agency Pro component is displayed with "No update required", so it is obviously basically executable under Joomla! 4.

      Only the modules

      • Ad Agency Remote
      • Ad Agency Geo
      • Ad Agency Zone
      • Ad Agency CPanel
      • Ad Agency Menu

are displayed at "Update information not available". Whereby only "Ad Agency Zone" is actively used by us in frontend. Possibly Ad Agency CPanel and Ad Agency Menu are still needed at most for full backend functionality?

So the Ad Agency Pro component is already compatible with Joomla! 4! So your programmers only need to make the modules Joomla! 4 compatible. So where is the problem, please?

Please don't leave your customers out in the cold and continue to develop Ad Agency Pro for Joomla! 4!

With many greetings and trust in your common sense

      Peter

        Peter-Kaminski Hi Peter,
Currently we are focusing our resources on Guru's new update for J4. Once that is done we will take a further look into Ad Agency and decide on the update plan.

          citybuzzmag Hi
Our dev team is currently doing some checking and testing with Ad Agency. We need to be thorough before confirming the update as Ad Agency is a big component.
We will follow up with you on whether the update to J4 is possible soon.

I'd also just like to add my vote to this.

I run a very large magazine website that relies on AdAgency to handle their banner advertising so if it's not developed for Joomla 4, that would be disappointing.

I'm guessing there's not much point then mentioning that you can't save campaigns under PHP7.4.

So hopefully the component is updated at some stage for both PHP compatibilty and for Joomla 4.

          Thanks

We need this as well. There are no other components that have the features that AdAgency has.

SocialAds is not a replacement as it's missing almost all the features an adserver needs and you'll spend days trying to force workarounds and still not have a workable solution.

We're looking at an open source option as a replacement but it's not the route we'd like to go which is stay with AdAgency.

If anyone else finds something that will work, will you please share that info with me? We could really use it.

I did ask also a few months ago and was much dissapointed to know that AdAgency would not be updated to J4.
We do not use it as a customer ads self-publishing, but even from the backend we haven't found such a versatile and precise ad managing system for joomla.
If it doesn't update, and no other component offers these features in J4, we might consider a different platform. Personally I hate wordpress, because in so many other features is not so complete and versatile as joomla. However, there are good extensions for ad managing, as I have been able to check.
It's a pity (for us) that you have discarded this updating. I won't discuss your reasons, probably you have good ones. But we have to think in our needs. Or, maybe, re-think.

In another post, iJoomla mentioned considering migrating Ad Agency Pro to Joomla! 4 once Guru for Joomla! 4 was released. Guru was already released for Joomla! 4 in May!

So now would be the latest time to start working on reprogramming Ad Agency Pro for Joomla! 4.

Since PHP 7.4 will reach its end-of-life in November, Ad Agency Pro should at least be made PHP 8.1 compatible by then, please, in order to then release a Joomla! 4 version by 17.08.2023 at the latest.

Dear iJoomla team, could you please enlighten us about the further plans for Ad Agency Pro?

          With kind regards

          Peter

          Hi

This component is quite big and the code base is pretty old comparing with the new updates from Joomla 4. It will take us more time to check and test rather than extensions from JoomlArt. I will update here when having more news from dev team.

All these months have been full of bad feelings about chances JA will migrate Ad Agency Pro to J 4.x.
And seems to be the same until now... :-(
Time limits are approaching so fast! And feedback on migration has been, and keeps being so disappointing so far.

However, we keep big hopes. We need so much Ad Agency Pro.
We were first customers of Ijoomla for that component, much before becoming customers of JA (which has also good templates, however, as well as good support).

We keep expectant, even anxious, and, yes, at the same time much worried.

            Hi bronston59

I am sorry about the late update. The developer team is working hard to migrate the extension, it is under the fixing bug phase and will be delivered to our QA team for the testing phase soon.

            Best regards.

that is spectacular news - we just renewed this morning - and btw had to pay full price as the coupons come back as invalid.

Can you please refund us the difference? It's a lot of money.

            Thank you
