JA K2 Data Migration Plugin

provided that my website is fully updated to 3.10.5 and Gavick template at last available release, and K2 at last DEV release (2.11.0), about this your plugin I am asking myself for: I have a Gavick template which went with integrated K2 . I should want to free myself from K2, coming back to Joomla core. But: will this plugin work on a Gavick template structure, or the whole template will get disrupted ? After migration, K2 could be uninstalled? the leftover plugins JA K2 Data could be unistalled after migration ?

JA K2 Data Migration plugin helps to transfer K2 content to Joomla articles content only, it will not affect the structure of template as it depends on which content the template shows up.

May I know which GK template are you using?

About the plugin, you can uninstall after migration if you don't want to use.

GK Game template also supports Joomla articles content, however, with some sections built for K2 specific, you need to customize styles for Joomla articles view to match with style as K2

Thanks for careful check. I am afraid just about that. For example: in another post about DT Register (sub "how to link an article in a DT event") you adviced me that ONLY Joomla content articles could be linked, not K2 articles. Well: I prepared a joomla article and linked it to DT event. But when a guest clics on that link which now is displayed, nothing displays, and is redirected to homepage. In other words, I fear that K2 is so much embedded in the Game template that get back to Joomla core will NOT free me from K2 as Game becomes chopped without it.

I guess that Joomla article is not assigned to any menu item yet, pls try to create a menu item and assign that article or category that article belongs to to that menu item, it will redirect correctly instead of showing on homepage.

GIESSE I'm afraid that it's not possible to simply import or copy, the HTML markup of K2 vs Joomla articles is different. Make sure that you're using latest version of template, then let us know if there is any issue with Joomla article view on your site.

Hi, I have a similar problem, Gavick Photo has sections based on K2 (see example: https://photo.demo.gavick.com/index.php/work/portfolio )

Set up in Joomla 4 environment those sections simply do not appear, and it took me ages to find out that the reason seems to be that K2 only support Joomla 3. Unfortunately Photo template is listed as J4 compatible, what now blows up all the work invested so far, as I have to start from scratch under Joomla 3. Is there any workaround to establish the section WORK as linked above, in a similar way in J4 environment? Any tool or alternative available?

We were under pressure to update this template to Joomla 4 as other clients using this template don't use K2 and request J4 compatible so we can't wait for K2 ready for Joomla 4 any more and update template to J4 without K2.

For K2 section like above page, I'm afraid that you need wait for K2 release for J4 so you can have same page like that.
