Session expired, but which session ?

Hello, I'm using Template T4. First, I created the web site in localhost. When I put the site on line, I've got the message on the backend / Template style "Your session expired, please login again" and I don't have the layout setting anymore. Any idea ?

This is about the Joomla login session. Open system > Global config. > set the Session handler to Database and set a time value like 30.
30 refer to 30 min for backend when u not active it will expire the session.

Clear browser cache and cookies before login.

Thanks for your answer. I'm not sure that it was the real problem. But when I saved the session handler to 30, I had a message saying that the logs and tmp files are not writtable or something like this. And I realised that none of this file existed.
I fixed that and everything is ok.

I've still got a problem because I can't see the layout settings (from the picture I've sent I don't have anyamore the red message, but the rest is the same). To see it, I need to change the option "home" to "header 4" then go back to "home" and then I can see and change the layout.
If by mistake I saved the layout setting before doing that, I'm losing everything and the website is blank ... it is quite frightening .
I'm sure that there is something wrong somewhere.

Logs and tmp folder should be writable , you can change the permission it must be writable for setting save and install new extensions.

If the error showing on your site in T4 kindly edit fields in first post and submit a temp super user login
